How it works

  • When entering the import widget, select “Onshape” at the bottom.
  • You can select parts, part libraries, or assemblies. You have full access to which version you wish to import.
  • Full search capabilities are implemented, making it easier to find the project you’re looking for when many projects exist.
  • A preview of the project will be displayed to help you identify the project you want to simulate.

  • CAD associativity allows geometry to be swapped retaining load and boundary condition assignments. Associativity saves time and allows users to rapidly explore multiple CAD designs without having to remap simulation assignments.

The total material cost saving was 44%. We eliminated testing and prototype costs on this project entirely. It usually takes 1-3 weeks of prototyping time and another 1-3 weeks for all the testing normally done. Overall this project was successful and it helped achieve our goal of reducing cost and keeping within the project timeline.
